Best of Kevin’s bubble - March 2026

I put a lot of love into crafting my corner of the interwebs into a nice place. As sharing is caring I thought of sharing things I encounter on a monthly basis with the hope that it makes your corner also just a little nicer. So here we go again with yet another certainly irregular blog post.

I am in an abusive relationship with the technology industry

For this one the topic just really spoke to me. I hope it speaks to you as well.

The next time I need to design anything I will hopefully remember this page and start using its styles 😄

Kampagne gegen Nius und Frauenhass

This one just made me laugh when I read it. TLDR: Some left activists put up a big poster with the face of Reichelt and some horrible sentences. There were of course many right wing people saying that this can’t be and that this is below some certain threshold, only to learn later that these were sentences taken out of Nius news, and it’s comment section that were originally specifically made about women. Ahh, isn’t it nice how people usually can’t stand what they in return do to others? 😅

Subreddit r/ichichs

Reddit did it again and let me stumble upon a subreddit that brightens my day every day. A redditor in there create AI “art” that is about german patrionism in combination with green energy and taxing the rich. I usually don’t support AI art, but I wish so bad that these pictures are making it into right wing bubbles and let them rethink what they want to stand for. Here are a few examples 😬

Subreddit r/threejs

At work, I tend more and more to strive towards becoming the 3D view expert. And while working my way through the three.js manual, this subreddit keeps me highly motivated as every day there is something new and cool to discover.

Books

Azure Bonds - Kate Novak and Jeff Grubb

A few weeks ago I was fast enough to grab a copy of the forgotten realms books humble bundle. It contained 40 books from 10 series and spreading from 1988 to 2012. This was the first one I read (I thought starting from the earliest is maybe smartest) and oh boy was I positively surprised. I expected nothing and got a strong female main character, a good story and the world building, that of course leverages the forgotten realms lore that existed back then, was just awesome. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books.

Tinker Ideas

Like every month I of course have tinker ideas I probably won’t be able to tackle, but I wanted to bring them up here, in case someone wants to add something cool to those ideas ☺️

real live mario kart

So this product theoretically already exists (see Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit) BUUUT, I do not just want to build it myself, I specifically want to build it in a way so that Morty and Momo (our cats) can play with it. And I would of course like to use my steam deck for controlling it. Overall I think that would be awesome, let’s see if I find some time for this in the near future.

Three.js live solar system

I am not the first one to build this, and I probably won’t be the last. Still I would like to do it 😌. Because first, I am looking for an excuse to do more three.js in my spare time and second, I would like to learn more about the solar system mechanics. And this would be a solution for both of them. Let’s see if I find time after I finished the three.js manual.

That’s it for this month. I hope you enjoyed the ride. See you next time,

Kevin
