Best of Kevin’s bubble - October 2026
Hello there,
As you might have noticed, there was no September edition. I unfortunately was on vacation during the month transition and at first I forgot, and then I was too lazy and then it felt too late 😅
Well anyways, I managed to gather some stuff this month again, so please enjoy ☺️

I read the article, and I am still not sure what unikernels are. Still something stuck with me, the concept that it is way safer than your typical “Application running on an OS”. Does that mean they are talking about creating your own OS that is at the same time the Application. Is it like writing a program for a Microcontroller where also “EVERYTHING” that is running, is programmed by you and there is no OS that is wrapped around it?
Let’s see if I can find some time to learn more about the topic.
Yes, just yes. It feels like some people in my closer vicinity need to hear this. Maybe you want to hear this too.
Books
Not really a book but still kind of reading so I’ll mention it anyways 😄
Kill 6 billion demons is a web comic from the guy that also did the art for the Lancer TTRPG. When a friend of mine (the one that also introduced me to Lancer) told me that the same artist has this web comic that is going on for quite a while I put it on my reading list and then didn’t open the page for a few months. This month I finally took the time to start reading it and boy is it awesome. As with many stories I read, I like that the main character is a woman. I like what kind of absurd world the author came up with and the art itself is also just stunning.
Can definitely recommend 👌
If you've come this far you by now alao either love the carl books or you are very sardistic. I in anyway continue to love them.
It is especially fascinating how now in the 5th book Matt still manages to introduce hints and plots that were unbelievable and possibly far fetched in the beginning, but by now make complete sense. I love how he does it and I am excited to see what else he is gonna present to us 😄
And I'll say it again. I love this series. Something I specifically loved about the last 2 books was how Matt manages that the side plots are making so much sense and fit so well into the world. Truly inspiring.
For anyone reading this in the future, I write this in a time when the next part is not released yet 😢
I do need to admit that after binge reading all currently existing Dungeon Crawler Carl books in almos one go that I finally came to scenes that where not as exciting to me as other scenes in this series (which is why I am giving it a 4 instead of the typical 5). Nevertheless I am super excited for the next part and as always flabbergasted by the stuff that happened in this one 😬
I hope you enjoyed the latest edition.
See ya,
Kevin
